Daniel’s Dream of Four Beasts
1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he was lying on his bed. He wrote down the substance of his dream.
2 Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. 3 Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.
4 “The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a man, and the heart of a man was given to it.
5 “And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’
6 “After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.
7 “After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.
Now… Why does God veil his prophecy in scripture and not just tell us who and what he is talking about?
Why does God only show it to those whom he wants to understand…meaning his people… meaning the ones
who seek out God, those who seek his word, and part of his word is prophecy…
What do the beasts symbolize?
(V17) – ‘The four great beasts are four kingdoms that will rise from the earth.
(V23) – “He gave me this explanation: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it.
A beast in phrophecy means a king or a kingdom or a ruler of that kingdom.
Why should we care about this stuff?
Daniel 7:9
“As I looked,
“thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,
and its wheels were all ablaze.
Possibly is he talking about the 1000 year reign of Christ Jesus?
Daniel 7: 11-12
“Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking. I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. 12 (The other beasts had been stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time.)
Right before the 2nd coming of Christ, there will be a world government put in place. During that time, there will be a person put in power over this all. This guy will be in power for
3 and 1.5 years. This guy is called the antichrist, the beast, the little horn…ect… He talks about this guy making great speeches.. and daniel saw him destroyed. What about the rest
of the nations… meaning when daniel talked about “the rest of the the nations or beasts”.
During the 1000 year reign of Christ, the rules that Christians are supposed to follow will be enforced and followed with out question.
Are there ‘beasts’ (nations) in history that are known by the symbols that daniel is talking about?

(v4) Lion with wings like that of eagles.
—- Jan. 4th 1980 News headline reads…. After the British LION, the Russian BEAR. (Indenapolis Newspaper.)
—- Websters Definition of LION… or one of the definitions (Symbol of a country Great Britian)
Like to a Bear
—– The russians are symbolized by the Bear (by time magazine, economist, ect.) Check the Time Magazine May 24, 1984 cover
A Lion with Wings like that of an egale.
—– The USA symbol is the egale… but thats not what makes this statement so true.
The bible said that the wings where growing out of the lion, and then they were plucked from the lion, and it was lifted up from the feet
of the lion like a man and it was given a mans heart was given to it. Our other symbol is ‘uncle sam’. Could it be that it means that the
wings were plucked from the lion…(our four fathers breaking away from great britian. and starting the growth of the USA (the part about a man.)?)
How about this…. Time Mag. in 1980 cover regarding the gulf war… has a picture of and eagle and a bear representing the USA, and Russia..
Its funny how on the widest circulating magazine the symbolism is so out there.
Leopard with four heads.. What is this one?
—– Possibly the Germans? (in the bible it said that the dominion was givin to the leopard.) But how does this represent Germany?
—– What about the four heads? Multiple heads on a beast represent a rise and fall on that nation.. Germany has fallen three previous
times, and right now they are rising.
The final beast…
The beast that had ten horns.
— What do the horns symbolize.
Daniel 7: 24 The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings.
Revelation 17:14 – 14They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”
The ten horn kingdom does not exsist right now. What does this mean? Possibly the CIS, which is a ten member nation…. hmmm..
Daniel 7:23 – “He gave me this explanation: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it.
This talks about the fourth kingdom will have the world government. Which will be called the New World Order…
Good news though – Daniel 7:27 – Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’
There is more to come, and I know that this is a bit scattered, but
its the best I could do as my thoughts came out.
